If you read the first of Truth and Lies then this is a follow up.I am a 50 year old disabled Captain who once worked for one of the largest corporations in the world.What I am about to tell you is that your employer is most likely useing you and is covering up the enviromental impact that it has on your health.In 1989 during the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill I Captained the vessel that supplied the chemicals that were used to break up the crude oil on the beaches of Prince William Sound and surrounding areas that were affected by the oil spill.At the time I Captained a landing craft that held a large tank of the chemical "INIPOL".I was told by Exxon supervisors that the chemical "INIPOL" was as safe as honey on your morning toast.After further research by myself and a close friend in Portland we obtained the MSDS report from the French corporation that used INIPOL on the Ammoco Cadiz spill years before and found it to be a very bad hadzardous chemical to human contact.At the time in Alaska Exxon put out their own MSDS report that was completely different to the French MSDS report.I told Exxon supervisors and also showed them the report and they denied all .At the time I was trying to help in any way I could to fight the oilspill that had destroyed countless miles of beaches in Prince William Sound . It was'ent later that after Exxon refused to supply proper de-tox materials that I came out and said that we need to safe guard the potoon and beach workers with proper training and clothing and a or several de-tox places were chemicals were being used.Not only did beach workers have blood in their urine but there were other signs of exposure also.I told Exxon officals about these concerns but it fill on no body listening.I myself came down with cancer of my stomach in 1994 and had half my stomach removed and parts of my indisdents ,I also have major blood disorders as well as all my crewmen that worked on the vessel I Captained for Exxon.I believe that Exxon knew of all this and still are refuseing to do a damn thing about it .I do not like to say what is what ,but I also was a part of the RCAC for three years (Reginoal Citizens Advisory Committee) and at the time ,early 1990s they also refused to take a stand on the chemicals Exxon was useing . Believe this also ,your ADEC , OSHA ,EPA ,U.S.Coast Guard ,NOAA and countless other organizations we pay for every day in taxes Lied to all the oil spill workers and still are .This also includes the people you and I voted into office.Well anyway I will be up dateing this from time to time so take care. I will from time to time add different facts to this Blog site and you the reader can take it for what it's worth.During the time that I supplied the Chemical "INIPOL" for the Exxon beach workers,namely the people whom sprayed the beaches.They carried a backpack that was either filled with "INIPOL" directly from the vessel ( landing craft the Pegasus ) or supplied from pontoon vessels that I supplied also.Now these workers were at no time given any spiecial instructions on the safe handling of the chemicals and also were never given or supplied with Haz-mat clothing to protect them from exposure.On the Pegasus I supplied protective clothing,gloves,and so forth because Exxon did not consider "INIPOL"a hazardous material.I also had set up a de-con station on board the Pegasus because the way the chemicals were off loaded caused numerous spills and not only was thepeople that were spraying this chemical exposed numerous times I believed that when our decks were washed down that the enviroment was also exposed as well.Now one really astonishing episode that I thought was and needed immediate attention happened in the Bay of Isles on Knight Island and affected hundreds of people.On board the vessel "Columbia"which was a berthing vessel for beach workers there was a salitation station ( converting salt water to fresh water )which I brought to the attention of Exxon Supervisor's , The EPA ,OSHA and whom ever would listen ,But no one seemed to care or did'nt want to get envolved , Heres what happened ,the Columbia was anchored right next to where the "INIPOL" was being sprayed on the beaches,all chemicals were sprayed at low tide which means at or when the tide was coming in the chemicals would wash off , it dosen't take a rocket scientist to see what was happening ,at the same time the vessel Columbia was making fresh water with these chemical laden water ,now was the chemicals filtered out ? No they were not and anybody that worked off the Columbia was exposed to "INIPOL".Now this exposure can and has been documented to cause cancer as well as major medical problems not with only the beach workers but your children.How does Exxon get away with this ? OK this is going to relate to Sub-Contractor's that worked for Exxon , and they would be the two largest which is VECO and VRCA.If you worked for one of these company's during Spill then you came in contact with Various chemical's , mainly "Inipol" I would associate your medical problem's with either two . Now VECO supplied the beach worker's and VRCA was mostly on barge's workong different site's with Super sucker's .But I can not say for sure if these worker's and or thier supervisor's knew at that time about Chemical exposure , for one thing these people came from all over( not just Alaska)and nobody except Exxon knew the danger's of the chemical exposure's of Inipol , because as I have stated before , Exxon covered it all up with thier own MSDS report.Now there was a short Haz-mat class that VECO sent their Supervisor's to , but in all fairness it was a Flop, at the time no one knew what would happen , take the Berthing Vessel Columbia in Knight's Island , they made thier own drinking water , but it did not take out the chemical's that the beach cleaner's where using , such as Inipol at low tide , when the tide came in the Inipol would wash off and float all over the Bay and thus the drinking water and your bathing water was comtamiaded , leading to exposure to yourself and probily your children and on down the line . In all fairness I could say that VECO didn't know , but they did and all that mattered was the big Money , not your health ,just big money.Now on the other hand as far as VRCA goe's they really never gave a shit , they refused to supply ty-vek suit's , risporator's, glove's and such because in all roght's it was only an Oil spill and they had a very good contract with Exxon, why cut into profit's when you are on top of the World . It's really it all come's down to the big buck'a , not your health ,or mine ( I supplied all the Inipol to the beach worker's )Had I known ? I realiy do not know , sure I investigated the MSDS report and asked my supervisor's about the diferences about the French MSDS report and that of Exxon's , but I thought at the time we were doing the right thing , when I found out about the exposure and cancer I was fired ,and went to the RCAC in Anchorage , not until alot of year's later did these smuks decide it really wasen't a good idea to spray the Sound ,I was in the RCAC for three year's and everything I said was as if I should just talk to myself , Don't get me wrong at the time I thought I was making a difference , but not at all , when I resigned in 1993 from the RCAC they were still full of shit.Believe me when I tell you this , if you were exposed I am sorry for supplying the chemical's and I can only hope I can make a difference in the near future for you and your familey's . This really dosen't have alot to do with alot of thing's , I can not understand how Exxon can be so with out understanding about the people , including myself and our health issue's.How a major Corporation like Exxon-Mobil can denie our healthproblem's is beyond me .As a Captain from 1989 thru 1992 I did look the other way as Exxon ,VECO and whom ever else sprayed beaches from Prince William Sound to the Kenia Peninsula , by the time we started supplying "Inipol" in 1990 to the Bay of Isles on Knight Island I knew there was some sort of a risk . Now we know that the berthing vessel "Columbia" made it's own fresh water , but it did not filter out the "Inipol" that was washing off the beaches only a stone's throw away , how can a corporation expose thousand's of beach worker's tothe effect's of a highly cancerous chemical to all these worker's is beyond me.Exxon knew the risk's , they not only bought the chemical "Inipol" but also the MSDS report and once they bought it they changed it. OK how does a corporation change a MSDS report when they had no long term studies to back up thier claim that "Inipol" was as safe as honey on toast and what really is the kicker is the French Corporation had run test ( long term exposure ) after the Tanker "Cadiz" ran aground off the coast of Franch some year's before and had found out that "Inipol" was a major cancer factor in labortory rat's.As of this date I have no idea how many People in France that was affected by the chemical, as they say there finding's are inconclusive to date ,Kind of make's you wonder .Now I was the Captain on the Vessel "Pegasus" and we or I supplied all the "Inipol"to all the beach worker's in the oilspill , so if you are looking for a scape goat then I am it , yes I knew , but I didn't know until the summer of 1990 that "Inipol was highly cancerous , at that time I reported my finding's to the RCAC in Anchorage and was told that since I was on the commitee that over saw Tanker traffic in and out of Prince William Sound to keep my mouth shut ,I resigned in 1992 ,because as far as I could tell everyone in the RCAC was taking a bribe from the big Oil Company's, now I could be wrong , but I don't think so , at any rate they went thier way and I went mine.I suppose you would have to look at both side's, but why and what do I have to gain from lieing ,and beside's the RCAC just handed down thier paper on spreading chemical's on oilspill's , and now they say it's not a good idea, the same thing I said back in 1990.There will be more --------Captain Richard Nagel		\|< << >> >\|

The harmful component in Inipol eap 22 was 2-butoxyethanol. It has been in widespread use since the 1930s and should be suspect for health harm to Pres FDR and many others. ESPECIALLY soldiers of all wars. Somehow it must also be in the explosive fumes of warfare. But for sure it is in Simple Green and other cleaning products thought to be 'safe' What Capt Richard is sharing on DOES have great significance for everyone. I would like to know what was in INIPOL when France owned it? I would like to know how INIPOL changed when Exxon purchased the patent and added 22 more chemicals, of which 2-butoxyethanol was 12% of the product. I would like to know how the workers of the 1978 French beach cleanups 'look like' the French 'gulf war syndrome' vets. I would like to know how the workers of the Exxon Valdez oil spill cleanup 'look like' the 'gulf war syndrome' vets of the USA and other Nations ... Does Britain want to know why so many odd birth defects are showing up? Why so much diabetes? Why NHL (Non Hodgkin's Lymphoma) is the 5th leading cause of death? Why cancer is epidemic? Ask not what is wrong with your family's DNA, ask how many generations have had soldiers in a war? How many have been in manufacturing and have been poisoned! Look at this biological 'dirty bomb' that targets multiple organs, glands, body systems at the same time. (Not a matter of metastasizing) Where the tumor/cancer shows up first is irrelevant. I believe the harmful component in Inipol causes: High or low blood sugar (or other hormonal issues high or low) High or low blood pressure High or low body temp What is your temperature? I haven't written in a long time because I have been very sick with my blood ( Hypo-clockseanic Eniema ) at any rate I have filed a claim againest Exxon for posining myself and countless others , at first I started pointing fingers at OSHA and the EPA , but they have thier own interninal wars going on , so I wrote to the U.S.Department of Labor and they forwared my complaint to The Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation Fund , which to my surprise has taken up on my side . After countless letters to Exxon from The U.S.Department of Labor Exxon finally responded by saying I never worked the Exxon Valdez Oil Spill , seems Exxon only keeps employee records for five years which is just one more lie from Exxon , I sent several pictures of myself to The Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation Fund and they also caugth Exxon in several lies and backed up my Compensation to 1991 , now there should not be a stautory time limit since I've been sick since 1991 and I continue to have major medical problems .Now what we need to do is raise hell over what these major corporations can do to us , if they do not like the law like it is they just pay someone in Washington ( a lobbyiest whom has very deep pockets ). I'm not saying that there are Senators or whom ever else is crooked , I'm saying they all are . Statutory time limits can not and should not pertain to people that are exposed to Chemicals and sense Exxon never suppied the proper equipment or de-con stations for workers that were exposed and lied on a MSDS report to make them look good , my own opinion is Exxon should be brought back to court to face criminal charges and The Department of Labor should fine Exxon and also set up clinics in Alaska for these people and myself to be treated for exposure to Exxons chemicals that they malisously changed the MSDS report that showed that these Chemicals did in deed cause Cancer in labortory rats .Exxon needs to be held accountable for thier actions , alot of people have died since the oil spill and I wonder how many were exposed to these Chemicals , so if anyone reads this then write a letter to the US.Department of Labor and The Longshore and Harbor Workers Compensation Fund .I Thank You very much and E-Mail these blogs to friends and your elected Officials Captain		\|< << >> >\|

I havent made a commet in a very long time , so listen up ,I lost my hearing with Exxon and I have filed an appeal to bring them and it goes as follows The U.S.Department of Labor , OSHA , EPA and the ADEC, but also the Manufacture in France ,the Distribitor in the U.S. and so forth .Now the statutory time limits have expired but Crinminal Charges never do , so if you want to say something then E-Mail me and I will personely put your name with mine . Myself ? I keep on getting sicker day by day , but you know the whorse thing is hearing and seeing my good friends die because of Chemical Exposure , You would think that since I supplied the Inipol 22 that I would be dead by now , Well with the help of Jesus Christ I am still here today to tell all of you that were Exposed to not give up !!! Look we have come along way , how do you think I fell suppling these Chemicals in the first place , that is why I am doing what I am doing and I will not give up . Alright so you want the truth of what really happened that night in March ?? OK yeh Joe Hazelwood whould come over and drink in the bars in Valdez , so what , everybody did , the night of the spill , yes he was drunk , and as ususal we all sat around having shot's of Vodka and Draft Beer . It was a night like any other except for one thing . After the pilot got off at potatoe point the second Mate took over and radio'ed the Coast Guard to see if the Exxon Valdez could go to her port to miss any ice bergs from Columbia Glacier , the only problem here was the Coast Guard that were on duty that night were stoned on Mariguana ( they took a blood test that morning and they failed). I know that this is by what I heard and I will not lie about anything that happened that night. If by chance that the second Mate had gone hard over to Starboard then back to hard Port this oil spill would have never happened .Believe me I worked Prince William Sound and the Port of Valdez for Years , as well as docking ships in Anchorage , so I have been around ,.The other part of the lie stays with Exxon where as they lied about the Chemicals that they bought from Societe CECA S.A. and then Elf Atochem North America took charge of , even though the MSDS report from Societe said that the Chemical Inipol causes Cancer in Labortory Rat's.OK what don't you get here ??? Alright I have been up againest Exxon by myself , now I want everybody else to get off your ass and help a little bit .Come on , Exxon is the largest corporations in the world and I by myslf took them on , on Jan.10 th and lost , why ?? because they have the best Attorneys in the world and me , yeah your right , it was just me because there is no one Lawyer out there that would help me out , O well ,so we live and learn ----If you care E-Mailme At ( CaptainSnaggs@aol.com----- Later		\|< << >> >\|
